This is a pretty pointless post, but I’m feeling kinda wacky tonight, so here goes…

I’ve been hitting the recently renovated elbo.ws site like the dickens lately (which should account for my recent fixation with Calvin Harris - I’m so ashamed! 8^O ). Speaking of which, a few of the blogs there are all atwitter over a cover of one of his tunes.  The comparison’s have been posted elsewhere but what the hey…

BTW, I love the guy’s music in a giggly little schoolgirl, guilty pleasure kinda way, but I’ve got my suspicions about a few things.

1. Did he REALLY record his entire CD using an old Amiga computer?  I remember those things. They weren’t THAT advanced.  Unless he did all of his sequencing on that machine and ran his MIDI cables into some samplers? And then into a Digital/Tape/Reel to Reel?  Hmmmm…..

2. He’s got a rather posh vocal sound, and his speaking voice on this vid demos no brogue in it, whatsoever.

I therefore do not believe he’s even Scottish.  Then again, maybe this proves I’ve been listening to too many Arab Strap tunes. :p

Yes, I know it’s off their previous CD.  Oh well. Given the same festivals LCD Soundsystem and Daft Punk have been playing this summer, their paths have no doubt will have crossed, and, one day, Daft Punk just may play at James Murphy’s pad.
