ooops I did it again

Posted by: bigstarlet on: January 31, 2008

I broke another new years resolution this evening.
It was fun and a nice release, but after I hit the “submit” button, I’m now wondering if:
1. I went too far
2. if I made myself out to be as big a hosebeast as I described the other person to be.
I’m sure I’ll pay for my indescretion [...]

Something I heard on KTHX yesterday made me cry…

Posted by: bigstarlet on: January 28, 2008

It was the new Joe Jackson single.

I was going to do some smart ass commentary about how this may just tide folks over until the next Ben Folds Five CD comes out, but that would just be disrespectful.  Most folks who knew me back in the day know how much I wore out my copies [...]

Impetus and Participation

Posted by: bigstarlet on: January 27, 2008

I’ve been promising “fans” (or what I have left of them) a new CD for the last three or four YEARS.  I’ve had plenty of excuses: Job, family, tragedy, and now, now that I have a cool ass day gig and plenty of free time afterwards, it’s now all come down to:

All kidding aside…
Despite the rather unfortunate name, I rather like this band and their music. It’s been a while since we’ve had a melodic ska-influenced rock band make a killing on MTV2. Or VH1.
I like this [...]

But I guess that’s just too easy for some people…

"People Out There Turning Music Into Gold"

Posted by: bigstarlet on: January 21, 2008

John Stewart died today.
NO! NOT THAT ONE!
This one:

Most folks 55 and up will most likely remember him for his classic album “California Bloodlines”, as well as that song he wrote for the Monkees. Since that was just a tad before my time, I’ll just note that my fondest memory of his music was, during [...]

And…they’re…off!

Posted by: bigstarlet on: January 19, 2008

It’s caucus day here in NV.
MSNBC has already projected that Romney has it sewn up for the Repub. Traffic jams on Baring St. notwithstanding.
This kinda pisses me off. Couldn’t they have at least waited until the polls closed?
Meanwhile, despite intimidating tactics of Obama-supporting Culinary Union strongarmers, (UPDATE: and, to be fair, Ms. Clinton’s [...]
